Alumni Return, Torch Passed: A Conversation Across 16 Cohorts Reveals the UTSEUS Growth Code🎬Play

On the afternoon of January 8, applause and laughter filled the UTSEUS building. More than 30 alumni—spanning the classes of 2005 to 2021—returned to campus to sit down with over 60 current students. From keynote talks on "My Path to Becoming an Engineer" to café-style group discussions, this three-hour gathering was more than a sharing of experience—it was a warm, generational passing of the torch.

Jiaying Zhang (Class of 2009, L'Oréal North Asia Supply Chain Executive) and Zikang Chen (Class of 2019, Ant Group Large Model Engineer) kicked off the event, mapping out the entire journey from UTSEUS to UTC to the workplace. Then came the "speed networking" session, where a dozen alumni were surrounded by eager students—questions flew on everything from internship referrals to industry trends, from study abroad prep to workplace soft skills. The answers were candid and generous.

One first-year student wrote in their feedback: "Our alumni held nothing back. Through their stories, I saw how UTSEUS shapes its students and helps them bloom. That afternoon, I found my sense of belonging."
